Experiencing Doctor Strange at The Premiere

12:02:00 PM

When was the last time I actually posted something here? It's been awhile since The Color Run event, been on many stuff these days, with the new semester had started and I had to catch up with all the materials since my GPA on the last semester has dropped rapidly, I need to concentrate on the 3rd semester. So, today's test was Creative and Integrative Thinking. To pat myself on the back for studying well the last 4 days, I took myself to watch Doctor Strange. Not actually patting myself for this one, cause Benedict plays the Doctor Strange, and I kinda noted myself to watch the movie. Maybe, I'll get hooked to Marvel in the future? (I lready like X-Men and Guardians of The Galaxy, so I tried to give a shot on Doctor Strange, aside from the reason bae potrays Doctor Strange)

To enjoy the whole movie perfectly, I chose the most luxurious and comfortable theater nearby, which is The Premiere. It cost twice the regular theater and it was absolutely worth it. In this post, I will review the movie first and the theater, since it is my first time enjoying The Premiere. Remember, I am an amateur, my opinion cannot be heard lol, but you can criticize it as long as you're being kind.

First of all, the movie itself is not that hard to understand and I could understand the flow. But the pace of the movie was too fast. The first 15 minutes scene was about a short of explanation of what happened (the reason why Doctor Strange is needed) to Kamar-Taj and how Doctor Strange became disabled. Especially with all the 7 operations and all the things they did to Strange's hand, it felt like the Marvel was forcing it. Maybe they have to make it quick since the time limitation and to prevent boredom from the viewer's. But it was quite understandable so I'd give it a past.

Marvel also put some humour on this movie, which I found it amusing to watch bae being all stupid and funny. It was that different joke he usually put. Hard to describe just watch all his movie and see the difference LOL
I laughed a lot but I had to keep it down since I was alone and it wouldn't be funny if people were looking at me for enjoying much of Benedict's scene myself. *Trying not to be subjective in this case XD
And I must say, seeing Tilda Swinton excites me. I remember clearly the last and the first time I saw her, she was in a movie you must've known, Narnia; The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I actually used to hate her for so much. That was only one time, and seeing her again not playing the baddie kinda reminds me of my childhood. I was an asshole to her..

Out of all Marvel movies, I think this is the only logical one, since what Doctor Strange power is to control dimension from astral world, controlling the time, and all. And most of Marvel stories are about human with super powers in the real world. Mutant power (I am sorry X-Men), Aliens, Gods, etc. So this new concept of 'super powers' from Marvel is really worth to count on (not exactly new for the comicbook franchise, but it was new for the movie).
I almost forgot, the green-screen effect will spin your head, it was that good XD Since Dr. Strange mainly is about a dimension and other complicated stuff there would be so much passing times, jumping to one place to another, going in and out of dimension. If you like to imagine being in the movie, go ahead and have yourself a seat in a 3D theater, even better, the IMAX 3D. Planning to do that next week, let's see how long I can handle the view before my head is going upside down...

Now, the romance. It sucks, I must admit it. It seems like they pushed the love into the super hero movies. I kinda hope they dismisses the love story, cause it makes it look like a side story and it was not necessary. If they do want to make a love story, they should come up with a better idea than what they have right now. Just because I don't like romance doesn't mean I want it to be erased totally, just modify it in a better way.

Finally, the theater I have promised to tell. The Premiere is actually have a pretty small space, minimal number of seats. And you know what? I don't mind with that. The point of those are to provide the viewer's a private theater. It cost heavenly, but with all the service they give, I would pay again for another seat. You can reposition the seat the way you want it, lay your back, feet hanging or straight to the front. The seat is super comfy since it was a sofa seat unlike the regular theater seats. And, they provide a small table in between 2 seats, and also a blanket to cover your feet to prevent them from freezing XD

That's all the post from today, I'll write something else later. Still Doctor Strange related, but more personal. See ya~
